Kitty Kottages

We are pleased to offer excellent accommodations for your cat. Our facilities have been thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable home away from home.

Our facilities are classy, clean, comfortable and bright and spacious. They have been designed according to the specifications provided by the Feline Advisory Bureau. Properly designed housing ensures that your cat will be safe, secure, and comfortable in your absence. For a complete view of our facilities, scroll down to the pictures and the video.

Each suite includes a bright and spacious indoor area, as well as a covered outdoor sunroom. Every suite is furnished with an adjustable warming lamp and a Feline Snoozer climbing tower for your pet’s comfort and enjoyment. Your cat may come home asking for one of these climbers, so be prepared!

Billing will be calculated by adding check-in day, check-out day, and every day in between. We accept E-Transfer, Debit, Mastercard, Visa, Cheque, and Cash.

Before You Arrive
As you plan and prepare for your cat’s stay with us, we ask that you follow these instructions for the safety and comfort of your pet.
  • Please bring your pet’s own food and treats, as we are happy to accommodate your usual feeding routine.
  • Please carefully label all food, treats, and medications with your pet’s name and your last name.
  • Your pet must arrive with proof of current vaccinations or a statement of health from a licensed Veterinarian: Rabies
  • Your cat must arrive in a cat carrier for their safety, as this makes the transition from your vehicle into the Kitty Kottage safe and efficient.
  • Please make sure your cat is ‘flea free’. Please check and treat them before arriving.
  • We appreciate if you have your cat’s claws trimmed before boarding them. This helps with care and handling of your cat and reduces damage to our facilities.

After You Arrive
Upon arriving, please check in at Best Friend Dog Care office. If we are not in sight, please ring our doorbell, as this will alert staff to your arrival. We will be with you shortly to guide you to our Kitty Kottage.
As you settle your cat into its suite, please feel free to ask us any questions you may have.

Picking Up Your Cat
Again, please stop at our office at Best Friend Dog Care to alert us of your arrival. This will enable us to meet you at the Kitty Kottage, as we may be in either location.
Please feel free to remind us of any medications, toys or food that you may have left with us. Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your cat.
Best Friend Care is a small family-operated business providing excellent personalized care and attention for your furry friends. Due to the size of our facility we often reach full occupancy, which unfortunately requires us to turn away and/or place our guests on wait lists. In order for us to continue providing reliable pet boarding services we are instituting a formal Reservation and Cancellation Policy. 1) All reservations will now require a deposit. No reservation will be confirmed until this deposit has been received. The deposit fee will go towards the total cost of the stay. We understand that travel plans can change and that unexpected events may occur. With this in mind, we are happy to offer a full refund of the booking deposit if reservation changes or cancellations are made with adequate notice as per the following requirements: Peak Season (May Victoria Day weekend to October Thanksgiving weekend and December 10 - January 10) In the event that a reservation overlaps between Non-Peak and Peak Season periods it will be considered a Peak Season reservation. Deposit Required: 50% Remainder of Payment Due: 3 days before arrival Required notice for full refund of deposit: 7 days If you wish, the amount can also be credited to your account for a future stay. Required notice for changes to original reservation: 48 hours. This applies in particular to early pick-ups. If you provide a minimum of 48 hours that you plan to pick up your pet one or more days earlier than your original reservation period we will adjust your final fee to reflect the actual length of stay and refund the difference. Non-Peak Season Deposit Required: 25% Remainder of Payment Due: Upon drop-off of pet Required notice for full refund of deposit: 48 hours If you wish, the amount can also be credited to your account for a future stay. Required notice for changes to original reservation: 48 hours. This applies in particular to early pick-ups. If you provide a minimum of 48 hours that you plan to pick up your pet one or more days earlier than your original reservation period we will adjust your final fee to reflect the actual length of stay and refund the difference. 2) Payment Options In person payments by credit card, debit, or cash are welcome. Etransfer payments are also welcome. However, due to occasional bank delays in processing of electronic payments, please understand that your reservation will not be confirmed until we have received confirmation of the eTransfer. Additionally, we require that the remainder of the reservation fee be made at least one day before pet drop-off. 3) Any cancellations or changes to reservations must be made in person, via email, or via phone conversation. You are also free to leave us a phone voicemail when canceling or making reservation changes. All voicemails we receive are time-stamped and digitally recorded. Upon receipt we will phone or email you back to confirm that we have received the change/cancellation. If applicable, any additional costs will be added to the invoice and due at time of pick-up. There will be no exceptions to any of the above policies. Please do not ask staff members to provide refunds or to make any other fee adjustments.
