Dog Kennels

We are pleased to offer excellent accommodations for your dog. Our facilities have been thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable home away from home.

We have six cozy ‘villas,’ each with two private suites. Each suite has all-day access to its own large, outdoor “sun deck”. The villas face two large play yards, where the dogs spend many happy hours running and playing. The entire facility is double-gated. Our facility was purposely designed to accommodate a small number of dogs so we have the time to provide quality, personalized care for each pet in our care. There is:

Our Dog Care Program
Providing supervised social dog groups is one of the ways we keep the dogs relaxed during their stay with us. While under supervision, the dogs can wander freely with multiple dogs and play with their pals. This routine engages their minds and bodies. Even older or less active dogs can benefit by relaxing in a group setting. Many dogs who come for care are already very well socialized, ready, and eager to join in group activities and enjoy their stay. Others may not yet have experienced the joy of canine companionship and only need a little help to integrate well. Please review our policies for further information about group play.

This Program Includes:
  • Four playtimes minimum per day including an early morning and late evening exercise
  • Supervised and carefully selected play groups for dogs able to participate (see below for further details)
  • Individual playtime for dogs that prefer human companionship or need to be on their own for medical reasons
  • All day access to outdoor “sun decks”

Enrollment
Our insurance requires us to have a prior meet and greet with your dog(s) for it(them) to meet us and have a sniff around before boarding. Current vaccinations are also required. We may consider having them stay with us for a day or two before considering a longer stay (regular day rates apply). We also require you to fill out a “Guest Profile” form. This form provides us with your contact information, as well as information about your dog and how we can make his/her stay better.
Single Occupancy: $35 per calendar day* Jan 1st, 2024 $38 per calendar day*
Double Occupancy: $55 per calendar day*

Billing will be calculated by adding check-in day, check-out day, and every day in between. We accept E-Transfer, Debit, Mastercard, Visa, Cheque, and Cash.

Vaccinations
All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations or a statement of health from a licensed Veterinarian.

Socialization
All dogs must be comfortably social with other dogs and humans.

Group Play
Most dogs will have the opportunity to participate in group play provided there are suitable playmates available. If your dog is not involved in group play, please be assured that they will have equal time in the play yard and interaction with humans.
Please let us know if your dog is not suitable for group play due to health, temperament, or other reasons. We are happy to ensure they have one-on-one time with us, potty breaks and time for exercise.
Group play is a wonderful tool for us and for you. Your dog will enjoy his or her stay all the more and experience a great deal of stress relief in the process. However, there are always risks which we would like you to be aware of. We cannot be held liable should an unfortunate event occur. We take every precaution and use great care and discretion when mixing dogs together so you need not be overly concerned. Group play is an option. Your dog is not required to participate in group play.

Open Communication
We are always willing to take the time to discuss your concerns before, during, and after your pet’s stay with us. We believe in open communication between you as the owners and us as the entrusted caregivers of your pets.
Best Friend Care is a small family-operated business providing excellent personalized care and attention for your furry friends. Due to the size of our facility we often reach full occupancy, which unfortunately requires us to turn away and/or place our guests on wait lists. In order for us to continue providing reliable pet boarding services we are instituting a formal Reservation and Cancellation Policy. 1) All reservations will now require a deposit. No reservation will be confirmed until this deposit has been received. The deposit fee will go towards the total cost of the stay. We understand that travel plans can change and that unexpected events may occur. With this in mind, we are happy to offer a full refund of the booking deposit if reservation changes or cancellations are made with adequate notice as per the following requirements: Peak Season (May Victoria Day weekend to October Thanksgiving weekend and December 10 - January 10) In the event that a reservation overlaps between Non-Peak and Peak Season periods it will be considered a Peak Season reservation. Deposit Required: 50% Remainder of Payment Due: 3 days before arrival Required notice for full refund of deposit: 7 days If you wish, the amount can also be credited to your account for a future stay. Required notice for changes to original reservation: 48 hours. This applies in particular to early pick-ups. If you provide a minimum of 48 hours that you plan to pick up your pet one or more days earlier than your original reservation period we will adjust your final fee to reflect the actual length of stay and refund the difference. Non-Peak Season Deposit Required: 25% Remainder of Payment Due: Upon drop-off of pet Required notice for full refund of deposit: 48 hours If you wish, the amount can also be credited to your account for a future stay. Required notice for changes to original reservation: 48 hours. This applies in particular to early pick-ups. If you provide a minimum of 48 hours that you plan to pick up your pet one or more days earlier than your original reservation period we will adjust your final fee to reflect the actual length of stay and refund the difference. 2) Payment Options In person payments by credit card, debit, or cash are welcome. Etransfer payments are also welcome. However, due to occasional bank delays in processing of electronic payments, please understand that your reservation will not be confirmed until we have received confirmation of the eTransfer. Additionally, we require that the remainder of the reservation fee be made at least one day before pet drop-off. 3) Any cancellations or changes to reservations must be made in person, via email, or via phone conversation. You are also free to leave us a phone voicemail when canceling or making reservation changes. All voicemails we receive are time-stamped and digitally recorded. Upon receipt we will phone or email you back to confirm that we have received the change/cancellation. If applicable, any additional costs will be added to the invoice and due at time of pick-up. There will be no exceptions to any of the above policies. Please do not ask staff members to provide refunds or to make any other fee adjustments.
